How to create a team on Mteja? How to create an App? How do I add/remove members in my Mteja team?

What is a team?

Team is the term used to refer to the group of people you are collaborating with on the Mteja platform. It is often made up of individuals in your organization.

How do I set up a team?
To create a team, click on the Create Team button on the right-hand side of the Mteja dashboard homepage. 

Fill in the Name and Account Name which will be used to identify your Team Account and proceed. The name can be the name of the organization and Account name, a unique name to identify the team.

Fill in the details see the sample below:

Note: You can create as many teams as you need for your communication projects and all your teams will appear on the dashboard homepage.

How do I subscribe to a Plan on Mteja?

The next step will allow you to subscribe to a specific plan based on your use case. There are three plans available, click here to learn more.

Select the plan by clicking on the plaque, for instance; clicking on Enterprise allows the user to access the features in this plan.

Click the CONFIRM PLAN button to complete the step.

How to create an APP on Mteja?

What is an App?

The App holds your team resources like Sender ID, Keyword, Shortcode, Phone number and USSD code. This will allow you to use Mteja services like; Bulk SMS, Call Center, USSD among others. The app is created after creating a team.

Click on the CREATE APP button, and fill in the detail; see the sample below

Click the CREATE button to complete the set-up.

Note: You can create as many apps as you need for your engagements and all your apps will appear on the team dashboard homepage.

How do I add team members?

Once you have created the team, click on the Members tab, once you complete the Name & Description section.

Under the invite members section type in the email addresses of the users. Note that the users must have registered an account on the Mteja platform (learn more).

Once you input the email address and click the ADD button, you will be prompted to indicate the permission the user should have:

What are permissions?
Permissions refer to the roles and authority a team member has in the team.  
Here are the definitions of the different permissions:

Admin: The member can be able to;
Add and remove members.  
Change permissions for other members.
Manage contacts.

Make and receive calls, send messages
Write: The member is able to;

Manage contacts.
Add and delete contacts.

Make and receive calls, send messages
Read: The member is allowed to;
View but not perform any actions on the team's dashboard.

Agent: The member is allowed to;

Make and receive calls, send messages
Owner: This is the creator of the team and holds reserves all rights to the team account.
Use all the features on the platform and also remove and add all members.

Once you have done this, click Add and an email invitation will be sent to the team member(s) advising them on how they can access the team dashboard.

Invited members who do not have accounts on Mteja will appear under Pending Invites.

You will be able to see all team members displayed on the Add Members page.

How to remove team members?

Go to the Members page from the menu

Click on the user you wish to remove

Click on the Remove button to complete the steps.

Note: Team members can be removed by the owner of the account or a team member with Admin rights.

How to edit a team and app.

To edit the team name, click on the overview page under team settings.

Click on the Edit icon - next to the team name

You will be presented with a dialogue box that will allow you to edit the team details;

To edit an app, click on the App

Under the navigation menu, select Settings;

You will be presented with the Update App page, to edit the App name.

How to delete a team

Only the owner of a team can delete a team. Select the team that you wish to delete from the Mteja dashboard home page.

Once on the team page, click on the Edit icon

Click on the Delete icon to reveal the delete pop-up.

Type the team name you would like to delete for confirmation.

Press delete and proceed to delete the account.

Please note that you will not be able to delete the team if you have any existing apps within the team and proceed.

Once you delete the team, you will not be able to access the team page and you will receive the message above once on the page.
